My name is Dawn Rohn. I am the 3rd grade teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School. I also teach 4th & 5th grade science. I truly enjoy teaching young children. I have taught for 23 years, starting out my career as a substitute teacher before becoming a full time mom.
My husband Don and I have been married for 37 years and have four children, 3 son in laws and 4 Grandsons and 1 granddaughter! Caitlin is 34, Andrew 33, Arica 29 and Brenna is 27. My hobbies are horse back riding ( I have two horses), walking in the woods with our dogs, reading and spending time with my family. I enjoy being out in nature the most!
My husband and I also foster/train service dogs for a company called Freedom Paws Service Dogs. As you all know, Yashi, is the last dog we raised and were so very fortunate that she passed all of her service requirements and Holy Cross bought her. I am her handler.
My favorite part of teaching is watching the students enjoying activities while they are learning. My favorite quote regarding my classes is, "Science is a verb, not a noun!". This simply means that I would rather my students DO, than just listen!
My favorite quote regarding life is, "The road you leave behind is another road you're going to have to come back down someday."
